A production by Maryna Mikhalchuk

A play about the life of tears.
Why are feelings not allowed to flow? Two never-cried tears tell of a world in which feelings must remain hidden. Between breakfast and dinner, they complain about humanity, which places strength and rationality above all else. After all, they want to be cried out.
In this tangible yet surrealistic constellation, we are shown the invisible barriers that make crying difficult. How does our society deal with emotions and where do suppressed emotions spill out? At the spring festival, while watching soccer or driving a car? Through a mixture of intense dialog, live music and symbolic images, “Cry me a river” explores the tensions between personal freedom and social pressure.
It invites us to break through social barriers and encounter ourselves – with all the beauty, vulnerability and strength that lies within each of us. Because perhaps the tears we have never cried are the ones that shape us the most.
